Immunisation ClinicWednesday Asthma ClinicWednesday 2.00 - 4.30pm Diabetic ClinicTuesday 2.00 - 5.30pm Family PlanningContraceptive care is provided by all the doctors during surgery hours or with the surgery nurses. Cervical SmearsThese are usually carried out by the nurses but can be done by any of the doctors if necessary. Minor SurgeryOnce seen by a GP you will be added to our minor operations list and will be notified as soon as an appointment becomes available. This will be with a doctor and a nurse. Non-NHS ServicesThe doctors are able to complete private medical insurance claim forms and private certificates and carry out medical examinations for insurance, driving, employment and sport. These do not form part of their NHS work and therefore a fee is payable. Please ask at reception for details. CounsellingWe have a resident counsellor who is available two days a week. Referral is via a doctor only. Travel Immunisations/VaccinationsPlease make an appointment at least six to eight weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. Flu VaccinationAn influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for all at risk patients, those over 65 and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. Yellow Fever VaccinationThe Pines Surgery is an authorised Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. Special ServicesAll the doctors provide maternity medical services, contraceptive services and minor surgery services. We have a trained diabetic nurse and a trained asthma nurse in the practice. We also undertake our own child surveillance.
